Kyabje Azong Rinpoche was born in 1974 in Arunchal Pradesh, India. At the age of 19, he was recognized by His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa as the 10th incarnation of Lama Zang. Rinpoche has received teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, the previous Kyabje Ga Rinpoche, the late Kyabje Sengdrak Rinpoche and Kyabje Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche Ngawang Tenzin Chokyi Gyatso. He completed his studies in the Mahayana Sutras and Tantras and has gone through many years of retreat on the Kalachakra Yidam. He is the Abbot of the Drukpa LineageMonastery in Arunachal Pradesh.
